U.S. Air Force Airmen and F-15E Strike Eagles assigned to the 48th Fighter Wing, RAF Lakenheath, England, are participating in the United Kingdom Royal Air Force-led Cobra Warrior exercise, in the skies over England, Scotland and the surrounding ocean from March 6-24, 2023.

Cobra Warrior is a regularly scheduled biannual exercise that provides valuable opportunities for all participating units to practice and develop tactics, techniques, and procedures in complex scenarios against near peer adversaries.

The exercise will train warfighters capable of leading Joint All-Domain Operations in a contested, degraded and limited operating environment with scenarios that will include air interdiction, dynamic targeting, offensive counter air and defensive counter air, suppression of enemy air defense, and personnel recovery.

In addition to the U.K. and U.S., Belgium, Finland, India, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey are also participating in the exercise, which will develop the tactical interoperability skills of participating international partners, aircrew and supporting elements within a composite air operation environment.

Along with the fighter aircraft, U.S. Airmen and KC-135 Stratotankers assigned to the 100th Air Refueling Wing, RAF Mildenhall, England, are also participating by providing aerial refueling during the exercise.

Participants will demonstrate the ability to conduct multinational offensive and defensive air operations that will Influence and deter potential adversaries. The skills utilized will enable Allies and Partner nations to integrate and lead one another in similar situations.

The partnerships we have created through recurring training events, like Cobra Warrior, better support our ability to employ a strategic force in theater whenever we’re called upon.
