Theater security package transitions to Bulgaria Published May 4, 2018 USAFE-AFAFRICA RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- Twelve United States Air Force F-15s from the Oregon and Massachusetts Air National Guard arrive in Graf Ignatievo, Bulgaria, to participate in the joint Bulgarian-American flight training event Thracian Eagle 2018. Nearly 260 Airmen from the Oregon ANG deployed with the aircraft as the 123rd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, a Theater Security Package in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Approximately 40 Airmen from the 52nd Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, are supporting the 123rd EFS for this mission as well. Since 2015 the U.S. Air Force schedules and deploys force packages of fighters and tankers throughout the U.S. European Command area of responsibility. TSP deployments to Europe vary in length and are supported with total force aircraft and Airmen from stateside units. This deployment highlights the United States' ability to deploy fighter aircraft in support of our partners and allies in the European theater, and around the world.The TSP is funded by the European Deterrence Initiative.
