KC-135s deploy to Spain for Juniper Micron Published Sept. 29, 2017 U.S. Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- Two KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft from the 22nd Air Refueling Wing, McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, and approximately 50 support Airmen have temporarily deployed to Moron Air Base, Spain, to continue support of Operation Juniper Micron. The U.S. Air Force has supported French operations in Mali and North Africa since 2013. We have no plans to change that level of support, although we constantly examine more efficient ways to provide support to our allies. The USAF routinely rotates aircraft in and around the theater in support of operations and exercises, and all changes are done in full coordination with host nations and support partners.
