Band Performs in Belarus
MINSK, BELARUS -- Thirty-four Airmen from the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band march in the World War II Victory Day Parade attended by approximately 150,000 people, May 9, 2015, in Minsk, Belarus. The band's involvement is the first time in Belarus' history that participants from the U.S. Department of Defense marched in the parade. The event commemorates the sacrifices of the World War II Allies and the end of hostilities 70 years ago. In addition to their participation in the Victory Day parade, which included more than 5,000 Belarussian soldiers and 250 military vehicles, the USAFE bandsmen performed in concerts in Brest and Minsk, Belarus.
