Pilot for a Day, memories for life
ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Jack Driver, 10, celebrates about getting in an F-15C Eagle aircraft with Capt. Jason Bianchi, 493rd Fighter Squadron pilot, on the RAF Lakenheath flightline March 14, 2012. Driver, who suffers from Aplastic Anemia, a rare auto immune disorder where bone marrow fails to make enough blood cells, was selected as a pilot for the day. The Pilot for a Day program is new to RAF Lakenheath and provides children in the local community, who are fighting life-threatening illnesses or conditions, a day of fun as well as a break from the routine doctor and hospital visits.
