7th WS moves headquarters to Weisbaden

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany --  The 7th Weather Squadron is the combat weather squadron that supports Europe. They provide weather forecasts and updates to commanders and their staff by delivering specialized weather bulletins in support of the crisis action team.

The 7th WS moved its headquarters from Heidelberg to Weisbaden after serving more than 50 years in Heidelberg. They ran a 55 mile relay while transporting the colors to Weisbaden where an official ceremony was held to retire the colors of Detachment 1.

Det 1 was transformed into an Airfield Operations Flight and was absorbed into the 7th WS.
