NATO Days is a Czech Republic-led air show and exhibition that showcases military ground and aviation capabilities. Participation in NATO Days increases U.S. understanding of European ally and partner capabilities, greatly enhancing the ability to operate together as a team.

    The Czech Republic led Exercise Ample Strike 2018 concluded this week. Ample Strike is a multi-national, live exercise conducted in various training areas across the southern region of the Czech Republic. The exercise offers advanced air/land integration training to joint terminal attack controllers (JTACs) and close air support (CAS) aircrews.

Phillip Johnson, an aircraft maintenance officer from the 134th Air Refueling Wing, McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base, Tennessee, has been just that. During the summer, the 100th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was looking at a looming manning gap for an aircraft maintenance operations officer position. To help fill the void, Johnson came in on a 90-day deployment to man that position.
