U.S., Norway conduct first F-35 cross-service maintenance
A Royal Norwegian Air Force Airman watches as a U.S. F-35 Lightning II pilot prepares to disembark the aircraft after a flight from RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom to Ørland Main Air Station in Norway, April 8, 2024. A team of Norwegian Airmen received the U.S. aircraft and pilot, and prepared the aircraft for its next mission. The mission marked the first time that Airmen from one nation’s military provided servicing to another nation’s F-35 aircraft without supervision. The cross servicing of aircraft between NATO partners highlights the future interoperability with fellow F-35 users across the European Theater.” (RNoAF photo by Ole Andreas Vekve)
