I need to echo the Secretary General’s comments. General Nyoni, on behalf of all the air chiefs, the senior listed leaders, and LNOs, you and your team, the Zambia Air Force, and your government, put together a very, very impressive meeting and venue and showed us kindness the entire way through. We didn't just experience getting together and making decisions as it relates to the TTX, but we also had a chance to get to know your country, get to know your children, get to know some of the problems that you have, and it was truly phenomenal for all of us. I can't thank you enough.
To the air chiefs, I know you're extremely busy, and taking time, such as an entire week, is very difficult. I know this took a lot of time on your part, but I think it was well worth it at the end. So, I'd like to thank you very much for prioritizing this conference and making sure that either you or representative was here. It's good to see that we had the 29 member nations as well as 9 other nations that were able to participate.
This would not have been possible if it wasn't for all the liaison officers, so I'd like to thank all the liaison officers, and if we could, could you just please stand up if you were in a liaison officer. Don't be shy. Come on, stand up. Thank you very much. This conference wouldn't have been done without you, so thank you for doing that.
To our senior enlisted leaders, it's a breath of fresh air to have you all here. You're always covering your air chiefs’ backs, you're always giving us advice, making sure that we're going to do the right things and providing us recommendations. When we make decisions, you guys go out there and execute, and I thank you so much for your role there.
We got a fair amount of things done. We got we got a flag that we'll see here in a little bit as you pass the flag to the next person who's going to run AACS, we got an anthem, and we got an NCO handbook. The NCO handbook is just the beginning of a lot of better things to come, but it gives strategic guidance that we need for our NCO corps.
This is my third AACS and I think most of you may know, but my tenure is three years, which means this is probably my last AACS and my three years ends this summer. You never know what's going to happen, and I know your nations are the same. If I get extended for another year, I'd love to come back, but if not, I just wanted to say in this forum how extremely proud that I am to be part of this organization. I think this organization has come a long way and it's due to all the symposiums that we had starting off in Senegal and then in Tunis and now here in Zambia and all the hard work that the LNO’s the senior enlisted leaders and the air chiefs put into this. I think it's worthwhile. So my hope is that if this is my last AACS, I'll definitely be watching around February time frame of every year seeing what was decided and seeing this organization move forward in very fruitful ways.
We talked how great Zambia did. When a predecessor does that good, it puts a lot of pressure on the next country that's going to take over, and that is Nigeria. Nigeria, congratulations, I know it's a tough role. You don't just find a place like this that is this gorgeous and put a couple of TVs in and a couple mics in and then you're ready to go. It literally takes a year of effort, but you're up for the challenge. I'm sure you'll take this forum and move it to even better places. Congratulations on getting confirmed to be able to take on the reins of this.
I wish you all a safe journey home.
