    Airmen from 22d EARS honor Shell 77 legacy

    Airmen from the 22d Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron and the tanker community paused for 77 seconds of synchronized silence to commemorate the legacy of the fallen heroes of “Shell 77” May 3, 2019, at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Six years ago, the air refueling community lost three of their own when a KC-135R crashed in Chaldovar, Kyrgyz Republic, after departing to conduct a combat mission. The aircrew members who died were Capt. Mark T. Voss; Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney; and Tech Sgt. Herman “Tre” Mackey III., who were deployed to the 22d EARS in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

    Honorary commanders gain first-hand experience of RAF Mildenhall mission

    Honorary commanders flew on a U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker to gain an insight into the 100th Air Refueling Wing mission during RAF Mildenhall Honorary Commanders Day June 26. The Honorary Commanders’ program brings together dignitaries and leaders from the community in an effort to foster mutual understanding and trust by assisting base commanders with networking in the surrounding areas.

    Mildenhall hosts 5th annual European Tanker Symposium

    The 100th Air Refueling Wing hosted 13 NATO nations during the 5th annual European Tanker Symposium, May 14-18. The symposium, held every year since 2012, allows NATO allies to share their experiences, discuss mixed tanker formation standards, and build on tanker integration.

    Fueling the fight: POL’s role in OIR

    Here at Incirlik Air Base, the sound of an aircraft flying overhead is unmistakable. Who could forget the loud buzz of the A-10 Thunderbolt II engine flying past, or the shadow of a large KC-135 Stratotanker as it takes off to provide fuel to other jets? Without the 39th Logistics Readiness Squadron petroleum, oils and lubricants (POL) flight, there would be no aircraft taking off at all.

    Bloody Hundredth demonstrates reach, builds partnerships in Greece

    The U.S. Air Force and the Hellenic air force participated in an air to air refueling training mission over the Mediterranean Sea Oct. 26. From the moment the wheels of the KC-135 Stratotanker landed at the Athens International Airport in Greece, training commenced. This was the first time landing at an international airport for all the pilots on board.

    U.S. Airmen in Greece to train with Hellenic air force

    A U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker from the 100th Air Refueling Wing landed at the Athens International Airport in Athens, Greece, Oct. 25. The Stratotanker is scheduled to participate in a short air to air refueling training mission with the Hellenic air force in the upcoming days.

    Reservists maintain aircraft, relationships via Operation Atlantic Resolve
