U.S. Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa personnel and aircraft are scheduled to participate in NATO Allied Air Command’s Ramstein Flag 2024 exercise Sept. 30 to Oct. 11 at Andravida Air Base, Greece.

RAFL24 serves as a multi-domain, tactical-level live exercise for 12 Allied nations to train, demonstrate and advance combined warfare capabilities to include integrated air and missile defense and counter anti-access and area denial.

“Ramstein Flag 2024 will demonstrate NATO’s collective dedication to peace and security in an unpredictable environment,” said Gen. James Hecker, USAFE-AFAFRICA and AIRCOM commander. “For two weeks, our forces will be integrating with Allies and partners to demonstrate that the Alliance is postured to decisively address any threat.”

U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning IIs from the 48th Fighter Wing, based at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, and U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotankers from the 100th Air Refueling Wing, based at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, are among the aircraft scheduled to participate in the exercise. The exercise will also feature members from the 19th Electronic Warfare Squadron, USAFE-AFAFRICA Warfare Center, from Ramstein Air Base, Germany to provide realistic threat-to-air operations.

RAFL24 will set the groundwork for future ‘Flag Series’ exercises to strengthen cooperation, and fortify NATO’s resolve, commitment and ability to maintain global peace and security.
