U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons assigned to the 31st Fighter Wing at Aviano Air Base, Italy, F-35A Lightning IIs from the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath, England, and KC-135 Stratotankers assigned to the 100th Air Refueling Wing, RAF Mildenhall, England, are scheduled to participate in exercise COBRA WARRIOR 2024 Sept. 16 through Oct. 5, 2024, in the United Kingdom.

Twice a year, the U.K. hosts COBRA WARRIOR, a multi-lateral, live-fly field training exercise as part of their fighter weapons school graduation event. This exercise iteration will focus on operational to tactical high-end spectrum warfighting in a contested, degraded and limited operating environment.

“Exercises like COBRA WARRIOR are invaluable to advancing integration between the U.S., Allies, and partners and I appreciate the work done by our Royal Air Force counterparts to host this event,” said Gen. James Hecker, commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa. “COBRA WARRIOR brings together some of the world’s best fighter pilots to train side-by-side and further hone operational tactics.”

The U.K. is a key partner in the effort to accomplish multiple lines of effort. Combined exercises between the U.S., NATO, and Partners for Peace nations are conducted to improve coordination, collaboration and interoperability among Allies.
