RAMSTEIN AIR FORCE BASE, Germany -- A pair of B-52 Stratofortress forward deployed to Moron Air Base conducted a long-range strategic Bomber Task Force mission in the European theater Mar 6, 2023.
The 12-hour mission included integration with Denmark Armed Forces while incorporating in the Baltic Air Policing mission in conjunction with NATO Allies. These long-range missions demonstrate the high state of readiness validating the U.S. always ready, global strike capability.
“Long-range Bomber Task Force missions strengthen our steadfast partnerships with Allies across both Europe showcasing our ability to respond globally from anywhere,” said U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Ryan Loucks, 23rd Expeditionary Bomb Squadron commander. “Missions like these enhance our readiness and ensure we are ready to respond to any contingency or challenge across the globe.”
He added that these missions allow us a great opportunity to work together with Allies and Partners demonstrating the flexibility, credibility, and the lethality of the NATO alliance.
During the flight, the B-52s were escorted by Polish MiG-29s near Poland before flying to the Baltics.
