C130H Hercules assigned to the 731st Airlift Squadron, 302nd Airlift Wing, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, and the 187th Airlift Squadron, 153rd Airlift Wing, Cheyenne Air National Guard Base, Wyoming, arrived at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, as part of a Silver Arrow package. While here, the Airmen and aircraft will support exercise Swift Response 2019.

The Silver Arrow mission provides an augmenting force to increase tactical airlift capacity to U.S. Air Forces in Europe during the period of highest demand. The program also focuses on U.S. European Command engagements that support NATO. The Silver Arrow mission contributes to improved interoperability with NATO allies and partners, and U.S. aircraft rotating into the European theater in support of persistent military airlift capabilities.

Swift Response 19 is an annual U.S. Army Europe-led multinational airborne exercise that will take place in Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania from June 13-25. This exercise will feature high-readiness airborne forces from eight NATO nations including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Swift Response provides a vital joint training opportunity that allows command and control of complex operations from dispersed locations while ensuring that participating forces work together seamlessly to bring the full weight of the joint and combined team to bear – wherever and whenever needed – to defend against regional aggression.

Both Silver Arrow and Swift Response allow allies to connect personally, professionally, technically and tactically to create stronger, more capable forces during times of crisis. Combined training enables allies and partners to readily respond more effectively to regional crises and meet their own national defense goals.
