Airmen, aircraft deploy for ACE 19

The U.S. Air Force deployed F-16C Fighting Falcons, airmen and equipment from the 157th Fighter Squadron, 169th Fighter Wing, McEntire Joint National Guard Base, Columbia, South Carolina; and KC-135R Stratotankers, Airmen and equipment from the 174th Air Refueling Squadron, 185th Refueling Wing, Colonel Bud Day Field, Sioux City, Iowa, and the 141st Air Refueling Squadron, 108th Wing, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, to Orland, Norway; and F-15C Eagles, Airmen and equipment from the 131st Fighter Squadron, 104th Fighter Wing, Barnes Air National Guard Base, Westfield, Massachusetts, to Bodø, Norway, to participate in Arctic Challenge Exercise 19 from May 20 to June 4, 2019.

ACE 19 is a Nordic aviation exercise, and this year will include participation from Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. Funded by the European Deterrence Initiative, the U.S. force’s participation in ACE 19 demonstrates a steadfast U.S. commitment to our NATO allies and partners in Europe, where we remain resolute in our commitment to regional stability and security.
