KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft from the 92nd Air Refueling Wing, Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., Airmen and support equipment have temporarily deployed to Morón Air Base, Spain, to continue support of Operation Juniper Micron.

The tanker support mission for OJM has returned to Morón AB following a $4.3 million renovation of the runway that was completed in early September. The previous tanker rotation operated out of Zaragoza AB, Spain, while the construction was underway.

The U.S. Air Force has supported French operations in Mali and North Africa since 2013. We plan to continue this support and we constantly examine more efficient ways to provide support to our allies. The USAF routinely rotates aircraft in and around the theater in support of operations and exercises, and all changes are done in full coordination with host nations and support partners.
