U-2 aircraft deploys to RAF Fairford

RAF FAIRFORD, United Kingdom -- RAF FAIRFORD, United Kingdom (Aug. 23, 2017) – One U-2 Dragon Lady Aircraft from the 9th Reconnaissance Wing, Beale Air Force Base, Calif., has deployed to RAF Fairford, United Kingdom today and will provide intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities in support of the United States, NATO Allies, and regional partners.

Missions are routinely and fully coordinated with the respective host nation governments; however, as a matter of policy we do not release further information, such as details on specific missions or operational details.
