Berlin Airlift 75th Anniversary
U.S. Air Force Gen. James B. Hecker, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa commander, cuts cake to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift. USAFE-AFAFRICA commemorated the 75th anniversary of the start of the Berlin Airlift, America's first major test of resolve during the Cold War and one of the largest humanitarian aid missions in history, which directly contributed to forging a friendly relationship with a post-war Germany.
