Wing successfully redeploys Airmen before 406th AEW activation

406th Air Expeditionary Wing deployers unload luggage from a trailer after arriving on station from Norfolk, Virginia at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, May 18, 2023. The deployers were part of a mass deployment that utilized Ramstein AB as a port of debarkation for inbound deployers before being secured on various modes of airlift transportation to their final deployment locations on the African continent through coordination with the 406th Logistics Operations Cell. This movement was the first of its kind to be accomplished due to current high-priority missions and events within U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa causing an airlift backlog.
