U.S. donates mobile field hospital to Niger

Agadez Regional Governor and U.S. host the grand opening of the $1.6 million (956 million Central African francs) mobile field hospital, on April 4, 2022. The mobile field hospital is one of many Overseas Humanitarian, Disaster Assistance, and Civic Aid projects, financed by U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) to address civil medical vulnerabilities regarding COVID-19. The 4,592 square-foot mobile field hospital increases Agadez Regional Hospital’s capacity by an additional 30 beds, complete with the medical tools and resources to care for the 670,000-person community and surrounding areas.
