U.S. Ambassador to Turkey visits Incirlik AB for first time
U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Jeffry Flake (left) and U.S. Air Force Col Jason Gingrich, 39th Air Base Wing commander (right), meet with Turkish Air Force Brig. Gen. Gürel Özusta, 10th Tanker Base commander, at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, Feb. 2, 2022. This marks the first time Flake has met with the 10th Tanker Base commander since assuming his new role as U.S. ambassador to Turkey. Flake traveled to Incirlik AB to meet with Airmen, learn about their skills and observe how they advance U.S. security interests in the region and reinforce the NATO alliance. The U.S. presence on Incirlik AB, with the permission of the government of Turkey, symbolizes the U.S. and Turkey’s shared commitment to cooperation and joint efforts in support of NATO and regional stability.
