Halyard Mission Commemoration
U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band performs outside the school in Pranjani, Serbia, Sept. 22, 2018, for the Halyard Mission Commemoration. The Halyard Mission was one of the largest evacuations of fallen allied airmen in occupied Europe during WWII. Pranjani and the nearby villages became the main collection center where rescued allied airmen were secretly transferred from all over Serbia. Almost every house in Pranjani hosted several airmen, providing them food and care. (U.S. Air Force photo by TSgt Stephen Ocenosak)
