Ramstein leadership joins Airmen, celebrates Thanksgiving

Senior leaders serving meals on Thanksgiving to Airmen and their families is a longstanding tradition that allows them to spend time with servicemembers during the holiday. In the U.S., the modern Thanksgiving holiday tradition can trace its origins back to 1621 in the heart of a newly-founded city called Plymouth in present-day Massachusetts. However, the first nationwide Thanksgiving proclamation was made by the first president of the U.S., George Washington, in 1789.
