FARP tryouts leave Airmen gassed
U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey Wright, 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron NCO in charge of the fuels information service center, carries equipment during tryouts for the Forward Area Refueling Point team Sept. 3, 2015, on RAF Mildenhall, England. Tryouts consisted of pulling a fuel hose 300 feet, returning to the starting position; carrying a five-gallon water can, 20-pound fire extinguisher and a squeegee to the end of the hose; then carrying a 85-pound rolled up hose back to the beginning all while being timed. Utilized mostly in potentially hazardous areas, a FARP is the process of refueling aircraft on the ground from another parked aircraft. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Kate Thornton/Released)
