FARP tryouts leave Airmen gassed
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Joshua Sledge, 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron mobile distribution operator, lifts 100 feet of hose during tryouts for the Forward Area Refueling Point team Sept. 3, 2015, on RAF Mildenhall, England. RAF Mildenhall is one of five bases across the Air Force with a FARP team. Members are selected after a vigorous tryout and interview session to test an Airman’s skill and dedication. Utilized mostly in potentially hazardous areas, a FARP is the process of refueling aircraft on the ground from another parked aircraft. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Kate Thornton/Released)
