CGO staff ride explores the history of airpower at Operation Market Garden
Staff ride participants stand in a park in Nijmegen, Netherlands, Sept. 2, 2015, to hear about a battle between U.S. paratroopers and German SS troops to gain control over the Nijmegen Bridge 71 years earlier in same spot. This park was one of the many places that airmen participating in the Operation Market Garden staff ride stopped to see along their route. The staff ride was part of a series that General Frank Gorenc, Commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, U.S. Air Forces in Africa, has organized to foster the deliberate professional development of USAFE-AFAFRICA airmen.
