African Partnership Flight Mauritania opening ceremony
U.S. Air Force Maj. Hartmut Casson, African Partnership Flight Mauritania mission commander, speaks during the opening ceremony that marked the beginning of a four-day training event in Atar, Mauritania, Aug. 31, 2014. During his welcoming speech, Casson said that in addition to the skills that will be taught, it is the hope of the U.S. team that lessons and friendships formed this week will endure for years to come. This is the third APF this year and the first APF in Mauritania with a goal to help the six African nations that are represented during this event build aviation capacity, enhance regional cooperation and increase interoperability throughout the region.
