Firefighters ‘hang around,’ train for rescues
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Brandon Ah You, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department firefighter from Thousand Oaks, Calif., climbs into position before starting his rappelling descent from a water tower Sept. 4, 2013, on RAF Mildenhall, England. Using his right hand to guide the rope and his left to change the speed of descent, Ah You carefully lowered himself to the ground. The firefighters trained to be ready for real-world emergencies involving high-angle rescues. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Dillon Johnston/Released)
