Lajes Airmen honor those killed on September 11, 2001
U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Robert Payne, 65th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, rings the bell during a 9/11 remembrance ceremony Sept. 11, 2013, at Lajes Field, Azores. The bell ringing symbolizes the start and end of shift, the start and end of an emergency and honors fallen first responders.
