Scramble, scramble, scramble
Lt. Col. Mark Sadler, 493rd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron commander and Capt. Garth Wolber, 493rd EFS pilot, scramble to an F-15C Eagle at Keflavik International Airport, Iceland, Nov. 7, 2013. Required fighter aircraft such as the F-15C Eagle may be employed to assist in identification, interception and escort of aircraft during this NATO air policing mission and are on 24-hour alert. During the 24-hour alert period, aircrew will scramble to get F-15C's up in the air within minutes to intercept unauthorized aircraft flying through Iceland's sovereign air space.
