NDI protects lives, saves money
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Bradley Johnson, 100th Maintenance Squadron non-destructive inspection journeyman from Bakersfield, Calif., uses an eddy current machine to scan a piece of metal for cracks Feb. 11, 2014, on RAF Mildenhall, England. An eddy current pulses a small electronic current through whatever it is in contact with and an interruption in the current indicates a crack or defect. The machine has a display which will change according to whether or not there is a crack or pitting in the object. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Dillon Johnston/Released)
