MWD Dan retires after 9 years in USAF
An empty kennel in the 65th Security Forces Squadron shows where Military Working Dog Dan once lived. After serving nine honorable years as a narcotics detection dog in the U.S. Air Force, MWD Dan retired March 25, 2014. He was a devoted team member to 10 MWD handlers on Lajes Field, Azores. He is now adopted by Senior Master Sgt. Jason Tranfaglia, 65th SFS manager. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Paul Villanueva II/Released)
