Breathe easy: Firefighters train on SCBA to ensure own, others lives kept safe
Firefighter Jason French, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department from Lakenheath, Suffolk, hoists a 50-pound rolled hose during self-contained breathing apparatus training April 14, 2014, at the fire department on RAF Mildenhall, England. In accordance with National Fire Protection Act Standard 1404, all fire departments must provide annual respiratory protection training for all members. RAF Mildenhall firefighters are in the process of completing the training. In addition to reviewing a written training plan, all 100th CES firefighters are completing thorough "hands-on" training to ensure they know exactly how to use their SCBA safely when an emergency occurs.
