Breathe easy: Firefighters train on SCBA to ensure own, others lives kept safe
Monitors worn on the outside firefighters' protective clothing show how much air remains in the self-contained breathing apparatus, so firefighters can immediately see how much longer they can remain in a fire. Annual training for respiratory protection procedures ensures firefighters use their equipment safely, so it becomes second nature when they're fighting fire in an emergency situation.
