USAFE Texas Hold 'Em Champion
Tech. Sgt. Mark Bowen came out on top from among 32 players from around the command in the USAFE Services’ 2008 Project CHEER Texas Hold 'Em Championship March 15 at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. He received $1,000 in AAFES gift certificates. For the second consecutive year, the winner was from an Air Force GSU at Buechel, Belgium. Master Sgt. James Wells, Spangdahlem, received $650 as the second place finisher, and Staff Sgt. William Taylor, Incirlik, received $350 for coming in third. Spangdahlem served as tournament host, with senior wing leadership serving as the volunteer dealers, to include Col Thomas Feldhausen, 52nd Fighter Wing Commander.
