U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO visits Ramstein

Ambassador Kurt Volker (middle), U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO, and Mr. W. Bruce Weinrod (left), Secretary of Defense Representative, Europe & Defense Advisor, US Mission to NATO, talk with medical professionals during a visit today to Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Mr. Weinrod accompanied Ambassador Volker to visit Gen. Roger Brady, USAFE commander, to discuss USAFE’s roles and mission in Europe, to include USAFE’s participation in Baltic Air Policing and the newly formed Heavy Airlift Wing at Papa, Hungary. In addition to briefings and a visit with CC-Air NATO, Ambassador Volker and Mr. Weinrod were also able to witness first-hand how patients arriving from Iraq and Afghanistan are moved from Germany to the United States on aeromedical evacuation flights.
