AF recognizes Airman for emergency response efforts
WELLS, Nev. – The front side of the Bullshead Motel in the historic district of Wells, Nev., was destroyed by a 6.0 magnitude earthquake Feb. 21, 2008. Senior Airman Randal Kyllo, then assigned to the 3rd Contracting Squadron in Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, was visiting his family in Winnemucca, Nev., when the earthquake hit. Airman Kyllo, now assigned to the 52nd Contracting Squadron, responded to the scene to assist survivors, set up temporary shelters, provided security and delivered food and water for 48 hours.
