Relay for Life
Capt. Theodore Rieth, 39th Air Base Wing sexual assault response coordinator, marks a lap on his hand held counter as he runs in the Relay for Life at the Incirlik running track, May 9, 2009. Captain Rieth was a member of the Team WSA and ran and walked 50 miles for the relay. The 2009 Relay for Life was the first relay available to members of the Incirlik community and hosted more than 300 participants from 20 teams, raising more than $9,500. The event lasted 12 hours and included a luminaria ceremony in which participants wrote the names of cancer survivors and victims on more than 100 luminary bags.
