Col. Peggy Poore, 65th Air Base Wing commander, explains to friends and family members at the presentation ceremony what Master Sgt. Duane Frey, 65th Contracting Squadron, did in Iraq to earn the Army Commendation Medal. Sergeant Frey earned the medal for disarming a U.S. soldier who was drunk in a deployed location and preventing the soldier from endangering herself and others. In the same ceremony Sergeant Frey was also presented the U.S. fourth-highest combat decoration, the Bronze Star, which he earned for his actions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008.
