Digging up bones
John Craven, an archeologist for Suffolk County Council, lifts the remains of a human skeleton from the earth Wednesday, March 14, for further study at the company's home office. The skeleton was found during an excavation of land at RAF Mildenhall's Beck Row base housing where new construction is planned. The remains were estimated on site to be of 1st century A.D. Roman descent between 1,900 and 2,000 years old. Mr. Craven has been working for Suffolk County for 14 years and has worked to preserve human remains on several occasions. (Air Force photo by: Tech.
