ANG pilots fly simulator for training in USAFE
EINSEIDLERHOF AIR STATION, Germany-- Lt. Col. Travis Crawmer works the controls of an Advanced Tactical Aircraft Simulator, as Lt. Col Mike McMillan observes, at the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Warrior Preparation Center to enhance close air support training for joint terminal attack controllers and the U.S. Army during a Mission Readiness Exercise. The two colonels, who recently returned from Southwest Asia deployments and are about to go back in the coming months, are F-16 fighter pilots from the Air National Guard’s 132nd Fighter Wing in Des Moines, Iowa sent temporary duty to USAFE to fly the live, virtual, constructive simulator since the WPC doesn’t have pilots that are current qualified in the cockpit.
