Fighter squadron commander achieves milestone
SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Lt. Col. Keith McBride was on the receiving end of a fire truck hose when he landed at Spangdahlem Air Base’s runway upon his completion of 3,000 flying hours in the A/OA-10 fighter aircraft Sept. 6. Getting “watered down” is a time-honored tradition for pilots who accomplish such a milestone. Pilots who have their final flights also receive the hose. The colonel relinquished command of the 81st Fighter Squadron Sept. 7. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Andrea Knudson)
