First bolt

Manning the overhead hoist, Tech. Sgt. Michael Barns, an avionics specialist assigned to the 352nd Maintenance Squadron, Helicopter Maintenance Unit, RAF Mildenhall, England, works closely with two other team members positioned on the tail section of one of five MH-53M Pave Low IV Helicopters assigned to the 21st Special Operations Squadron, to gently lift each blade to remove tension before the eight bolts that hold it in-place can be removed, Oct. 02, 2007. Once the tear down process is complete, it usually takes an average two days; the helicopters will be transported to the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group in Tucson, Ariz., commonly known as the 'Boneyard.' All Pave Low helicopters in the Air Force inventory are due to be grounded by October 2008. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Tracy L. DeMarco)
