AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy-- Darlene Dittell, a fourth grader at Aviano Elementary School, laughs as Audrey Cooper and Pam Hillestad show her how much hair she just donated to Locks of Love. Aviano High School students Dylan Hillestad and Alex Simon organized the hair donation Nov.16. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Locks of Love are unique by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. The prostheses provided by locks of love help to restore self-esteem and confidence, enabling children to face the world and their peers.
