EOD Airman awarded 2nd Bronze Star

Iraq – Senior Master Sgt. Ken Pettibone, recipient of a second Bronze Star medal, and part of his Weapons Intelligence Team respond to an improvised explosive device blast on Alternate Supply Route Jackson, a few miles East of Forward Operating Base Kalsu, Iraq. The IED turned out to be a 130mm projectile, with a pressure wire stretched across the road. Sergeant Pettibone said this type of device was very typical in that area. Here, Sergeant Pettibone and his team wait for EOD to render the area safe so they can collect evidence. (Courtesy photo)
