Making a stand
Staff Sgt. Christopher Klaus, 100th Maintenance Squadron ISO dock controller, moves around Hangar 814 on a new mobile maintenance stands, purchased as part of an AFSO 21 initiative. The stands can raise from the ground to a height of almost 3 meters, and can be used on all sections of the aircraft. Using them means the maintainers can be in place with their tools and ready to work within five minutes; using the old stands took an average of 20 minutes, and four people, per aircraft wing, to set up.
