CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti – Maj. Gen. Ronald Ladnier (Left), 17th Air Force (Air Forces Africa) commander, presents a Meritorious Service Medal to Col. Jon Ullmann during the 449th Air Expeditionary Group’s Change of Command ceremony here March 9. Colonel Ullmann, the outgoing commander of the 449th Air Expeditionary Group, was cited for excellent leadership during his six months in command of the group. He now returns to his position in charge of Combat Operations at the 617th Air and Space Operations Center at Ramstein Air Base. Col. Matthew Smith, who has been heading up Combat Operations at the 617th, took command at the 449th during the ceremony.
