100th ARW tankers help F-22s cross Atlantic

RAF MILDENHALL, England -- An F-22 Raptor from Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, takes gas from a 100th Air Refueling Wing KC-135 Stratotanker July 27. By flying with a tanker, the fighter could routinely fill its fuel tanks to ensure it had enough fuel to reach a safe base in the event it had to land. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Austin M.
