Reach Out and Read

Holly Mello, a 39th Medical Group developmental specialist, and Capt. Linda Bradshaw, the 39th MDG pediatrician, pose for a photo March 3, 2011 during the kickoff of the Reach Out and Read program at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Mrs. Mello and Captain Bradshaw are the two individuals who initiated the program at Incirlik, allowing Incirlik to become the first Air Force installation overseas to implement this program. Reach Out and Read is an evidence-based nonprofit organization that promotes early literacy and school readiness in pediatric exam rooms nationwide by giving new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud.
