Survival training
BOUR OUGOUL, Djibouti – A French Army 5th Marine Regiment member makes goat stew during a desert combat training course which began May 31, in the Bour Ougoul training area. Students were required to kill and prepare goats to supply them with half their food intake. The 10-day course provided nearly 120 French and 40 U.S. servicemembers with a basic knowledge of field tactics and survival techniques to use within a desert environment.
